The Lone Tree Democrats have created an opportunity for individuals to meet and take action on issues that affect the quality of life on the local and national level.

To reach the Civic Center from Yosemite, take Lone Tree Parkway approximately two blocks to Sweetwater and turn north. The Civic Center is due west of the Lone Tree Public Library, and is marked by three flags in front of the building.

• Dr. Dahlia Wasfi, a current resident of Douglas County, was born and educated in Iraq. Her knowledge of events in the Middle East provided a personal perspective not available through the media.
• One of the highlights of 2006 was a house party for Bill Winter, candidate for Congress, held at the home of June and Gordon Brown. The event was attended by Democrats, Independents and Republicans.
• Jerri Hill, candidate for County Commissioner, shared her expertise in the area of water conservation; which is a crucial issue in the future of Colorado.
• Jim Stowe, President of James Financial Services, Inc., spoke on the dire future of health insurance in America, and what can be done to correct this in our lifetime.
• Bill Mohrman, former attorney with the ACLU, spoke about the recent rulings in the Colorado Legislature
• The Bell Policy Center spoke on two occasions, providing insight on Referenda C and D.
